Frescrete were appointed to apply an MMA resin coating system in Slough for an old customer.
All the areas of existing painted concrete slab required preparing using an abrasive shot blasting equipment (Blastrac Machine) to remove all existing coatings and cement laitance/contaminants. Any areas of deteriorated concrete had to be isolated with a saw cut and broken back to a solid base. The repaired areas then and to be made good using either Resdev Pumabulk or a pre-bagged rapid setting polymer modified mortar e.g. Sika Rapid Repair
Following edge/perimeter preparation and final sweep/vacuum and application of one coat of Resbuild MMA primer to all areas at an application rate of 0.25kg – 0.33kg/m2 we had to allow a minimum 40 minutes curing and then apply the first coat of Resbuild MMA colour coat (rapid curing two pack methacrylate based coating) at a minimum consumption rate of 0.3kg/m2 per coat. Following an overnight cure the next day Frescrete operatives applied a second coat of Resbuild MMA colour coat in standard grey colour.
The client was very pleased with the finished result.
